How To Change a Flat Tire:
- The first thing is to place blocks or wedges under your tires. This will stop your vehicle from rolling.
- Now you'll need to get out everything you need - tire gauge, spare tire, jack, and a lug wrench. Then check your tire pressure.
- Next, you'll need to loosen the nuts with your lug wrench, DO NOT remove them completely. If you have a hubcap though, you'll need to take that off first.
- Now you need to jack up your car. Make sure that you do this in a place that's close enough to the flat and has plenty of strength to support the entire vehicle. You only need to lift it high enough to change the tire.
- Jack up the vehicle so the tire is off the ground. It's important that you never open any doors, start your vehicle, or get under it when it's elevated.
- Completely remove the nuts and replace your flat tire with the spare one.
- Next, you're going to put the nuts back on using a star formation. Make sure you DO NOT tighten them all the way until your vehicle is back on the ground.
- Lastly, lower the car back down with the jack and remove it from under the vehicle. Tighten the nuts back up, again in the star formation, and unblock your wheels.
